summer leather

Zara Hat (similar here), Topshop Tank, ELLERY Shorts, Chloe Sandals (similar here).

quit depriving yourself of leather in the summer. too hot you ask? totally not.
the ones i'm wearing (on repeat) are from ELLERY. She's one of my favorite designers from Australia. they're a bit shorter than your average denim cutoffs, but don't worry, we're fully covered from the be-hind. now it's your turn to invest in some year round leather.

at minimum, do this:

1. red lips will never go out of style. (when done right)
2. invest* in a great coat. (then you don't need to worry about what goes underneath because no one can see, genius right?)
3. mary jane's back with a vengeance. (just ask the heel)

*do it now! before the F/W sales bid farewell.

dress me

so i haven't actually planned out what i'm wearing for thanksgiving, i've only just spent the last hour shopping e-browsing for my ideal thanksgiving wear. but considering my family and i have yet to make any solid plans... i guess i don't actually have a reason to plan.

ay, check it! a new post… better yet, a new outfit post! my apologies for the long extended absence, life has been busy (and this is definitely not me complaining)! so i've come to the realization (or just finally admitting) that i'm WWW.lazy… after staring at the computer all day long at work, the last thing i want to do is stare at it for even longer. hope you understand friends. but mark my words sisters, i'm aiming to be less WWW.lazy and more WWW.crazy (?)

*i hope i don't regret this, although i'm pretty sure my eyes will.

howdy partner! i am back in Taiwan, and once again it's howdy to cold/windy/rainy weather. so it's back to the blues we go, except this time we're going rhinestone cowboy Texan blues. unfortunately denim blues and bright bubblegum lipstick is so not happenin' here. but don't worry, i'm doing my part by adding more colour to the local color, yeee-haw!....and obviously somebody is one cigarette (dangling from the corner my mouth) and one leather hat away from turnin' completely Texan cowboy.

oh, and might i add... it's almost impossible to take pictures here. bad lighting, no tripod, no sunlight, not many clothing options to play with… i guess this is where my creativity needs to pony-up.

apparently it's hot enough to wear shorts… with stockings and an extra pair of socks that is! anything that will help warm my perpetually cold feet totally has my vote. i say, if you've got a case of the cold feet (and i'm not referring to those "commitment issues" of yours) you must give it a go.

restaurant in the sky

dining at Taipei 101 is serious business.

first, you enter the building from a separate entrance. then, you are escorted by multiple security guards (which had me seriously wondering whether or not we were dining with the mr. president.)

one 86 floors elevator ride later, i was definitely feeling a wee bit ritzy! now cue the super exclusive room, 100 dollar lime-wedges, expensive china and sterling silver silverware (go figure.) it was dinner fit for royalty… or at the very least liza minnelli.

so apparently it was "grand opening day" so the staff were all going a wee bit crazy, which meant the experience was something short of ritzy.
.. i guess we weren't dining with the mr. president (or liza minnelli) after all.

Oversized

you know what they say about "go big or go home?"

yep i'm definitely going big. oversized jacket, check. boyfriend jeans, check. bulky bracelet, check. oversized clutch, check.

ovah-sized just seems fitting considering it's been icy cold* here in southern california, but seriously… about time right? we're literally weeks away from thanksgiving! who's excited? i am! thrilled about my sister coming home for the long weekend, she lives in the north…northern california that is. (not the north pole, but it might as well be the north pole.) and beyond thrilled about more than i can eat turkey and the smell of pumpkin pie.

* i should probably clarify that my version of icy cold, is probably not your version of icy cold. (because my icy cold is around 67 degrees fahrenheit, and baby that is cold enough!)

oh and for halloween? i scrapped my amazing idea because the idea was too amazing for a halloween in good ole' orange county so here's what i came up with on the day of.

meow.

had a pretty fabulous time out there on Main St. the night consisted of bar hopping, a bit of boggie-ing, some alcohol consuming and lots and lots of meowing.

army green on full blast

Photobucket

blazer Rachel Roy, pants GAP, purse Chanel, bracelet DIY

my latest absence…. i'm blaming it on the bad weather* (seriously gnarly weather), workworkwork, a really good book, Sex and the City marathons and my TVO.

okay okay fine, i'm just a crappy blogger….and i suppose an appearance from this army green blazer only seems appropriate for this kind of "crappy-blogger" behavior. (cue drill sergeant) i'm officially getting my act together….starting November 1st, only because it's halloween in a few days. so what are we all dressing up as?

speaking of dressing up, i still need to make my costume (!!!) fingers crossed that i will still be able to cross my fingers by the end of all of this.

* sooo thrilledddd to have the sun back, don't pull another fast one on me ca-lifornia.

oh hello, it's you again.

so after deciding that this shirt is just too ideal, i realized it needed to be worn again and again and… again. (#outfit repeater) which means it also deserves a bit more web time. this time paying homage to my homie darth vader (minus the cape and mask). definitely a little out of the ordinary, but pretty much right up my alley.

and as of late? i've about reached my limit with the Beverly Hills police. i'm seriously this close to going chewbacca on them. i swear they've been stalking my car, i got 3 parking tickets in a DAY…by the SAME officer. yea, animosity much? and FYI i totally didn't deserve those tickets. well okay, maybe one of them, but just that one. i swear on my Anakin Skywalker. so NOT ideal.

transformers

you know what i love? i love buying clothes.

but i really love buying clothes that are self proclaimed transformers (and i'm not referring to those ugly tin robos--sorry R2D2). i mean clothes that can be worn as a shirt one day and be effortlessly turned into a light jacket the next. it's literally like getting a two for one deal (clean up on aisle 3). my latest transformer is this black button shirt that's currently in disguise as the perfect jacket. so ideal.

and today, i felt to urge to have another self-indulgent photo op by the pool...since i was feeling super fly (like a G6).

shirt ZARA, skirt American Apparel, shoes Stuart Weitzman, necklace H&M, bag Ferragamo

lately i've had to revert back to loose hanging shirts and short cotton skirts because southern california has been hit. with a heat wave that is. apparently summer likes to be fashionably late. and apparently even though it feels like summer, it's really not because the days are still getting shorter. now, this is where i'm going to formally apologize for my horrible time management skills (or lack there of). i promise i'm not going to let "shorter days" be the death of my blog. so get ready, because it's all happening.

tag you're it

dress Zara, shirt Silence&Noise, bag Vintage Bally, shoes and jewelry Vintage.

i've got 5 words for you: maxi skirts are so fun.
if you haven't tried them out yet, i highly recommend that you do, and twirling is not optional, it's a must.

so the fabulous Sian of Shutterbug tagged me in a post, and i'm only now getting around to it. thanks for the tag lovely!

1.) why did you start blogging? better yet, why not? it's the perfect way to connect with people that love what i love. no judgments, no hate, no cattiness and the best form of moral support. i get why you spend $800 dollars on a pair of to-die-for shoes, and you get why i flash my lacy knickers under my semi-see-through shirts. i love you guys.

2.) do you prefer spring/summer or autumn/winter? definitely spring and summer. you know how they say the weather influences your mood, that is SO the case with me. if it weren't for fashion week, christmas and my birthday, i'd probably be shriveled up and wilting somewhere.

3.) what do you notice first: smokey eye make-up or bright lips? bright lips, kindda hard to miss, especially the red lip.

4.) who are your style icons?
kate bosworth, love her.

clemency poesy, adore her.
ashely olsen, wanna be her.
fellow bloggers, no brainer!

5.) describe your personality in three words?
perfectionist, ambitious, determined.

6.) if you had to leave the house with only one item of make-up what would it be? i hate looking overdone, definitely prefer au-naturel, no-fuss! so the YSL multi-action concealer is my favorite, it lets you skip the foundation and power. less cake, more face :)

7.) Which era do you think influenced fashion the most?
every era is just as important as the next. no roaring 20's? no Coco Chanel cutting her hair and embracing women's trousers. (we might still be wearing corsets). the 50s gave us pencil skirts and marilyn monroe. uber minidresses and Twiggy rocked my world and the 60's. and fashion just wouldn't be the same without those hippy hippy shaky bell bottoms from the 70's, oversized shoulder pads from the 80's, and bare midriffs from the 90's (hello beverly hills 90210).

8.) what beauty product do you always repurchase? Cetaphil daily face wash. it's cheap, it smells nice and it works wonders on sensitive skin. drug store's best kept secret, swear my life on it.

i have ditched the black trousers, left the black pumps behind and forgotten to button my buttons. oh say it isn't so! except it is so, and i'm calling this my "play up the work wear, but don't wear it to work" outfit. it's fun, try it, work it, picture it, (twist it, pull it, bop it).

OH and that little giveaway i had? congrats to Shin from Fashion Cappuccino! thank you to everyone that participated, love you guys! more to come soon :)
