t o p s h e l f i e

I stick to a pretty minimal beauty routine. Besides moisturizer and SPF, I prefer a bare face on most days. But for the moments I'm feelin' myself, I turn to these three products. All of which I highly recommend, obvi.

On my nails
Dior nail vernis in Blue Label
During the cooler months I wear 3 colors on my nails and 3 colors only. Red, burgundy and this dark blue. This blue is elegant, sexy and a bit angsty. I mean... who doesn't want Dior on their nails?

On my cheeks
Nars Illuminator in Copacabana
I've done a hefty amount of research on highlighters and this Nars illuminator came in number one. It's definitely sparkly, and I am NOT a sparkle girl, but when it comes to this product I'm fully drinking the kool-aid. The slight shimmer makes me look all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Dab it around the eyes, on the top of the cheekbones and watch it work its magic. Trust.

On my lips
Nars lipstick in Dress to Kill
Here's the deal - I hate lipstick on myself. It looks great on everyone else, but on me it's just... blah. However, if I were to pick one lipstick to wear for the season, this is it. I love this color because it's so buildable. One swipe of it and it's like you've got wine-stained lips, minus the wine-stained teeth. Two swipes of it and you've got yourself a serious lip statement. xx

BLAZE.r

leopard blouse Vintage, black shirt H&M, blazer ZARA, shoes Charles David, sunglasses Karen Walker

i don't believe i've ever met a blazer i didn't love. ask my mother, father, sister, grandmother, first cousins… well, i think you get the point.

the blazer is a staple in my wardrobe all year long. give it to me in leather, silk, cotton or suede…hell, hand one over in PVC. this is one serious relationship, and i don't plan on breaking up anytime soon. i love the blazer, so much that i've even gone as far as sneaking into my father's closet to try on his royal blue vintage blazer…(it has amazing gold detailing.) i tried this blazer on three times, on separate occasions, and all three times those shoulder pads swallowed me whole. but for some reason, i believed (still believe) that one day it will fit (like Cinderella's glass slippers) okay, before you judge, can i just stress again?…the gold detailing!!

but wait, are we completely overlooking this RED blazer? as a seasoned blazer-wearer, i can honestly say that this is one of those blazers that require the "double take."

at first? overwhelming

at second? YOWZZAAAAHH!

don't forget to mix that touch of leopard (because red and leopard is never too provocative) and if scenery allows, stand in front of a concrete jungle.

now how can you possibly go wrong? oh, that's right, you can't.

rain & shine

dress Vintage from Taiwan, shirt ZARA, tights Top Shop, leggings ASOS, boots Vintage, bag Vintage Ferragamo, watch Michael Kors, bracelet from London

you know what they say. sunday-funday!… but rainday-sunday?

it was raining cats and dogs in the AM, but fortunately by the PM it was all sunshine and sunflowers. feeling a bit inspired by the sun, i decided to ditch the leggings and opt for some stockings! no, actually not really. the leggings got soaking wet from the cats and dogs, and i think people started wondering if A. i had a bladder problem or B. mother never potty trained me.

anyways… this past week, i've been cleaning out my closet (not like eminem). but have you ever found something in your closet that you forgot you had? it's literally the best feeling ever. it
's like shopping without spending money. (!!!JACKPOT!!!) so if you haven't experience this, i suggest you try it stat. it's really easy, just stop cleaning your closet. (preferably for a few weeks--messiness will follow guaranteed)

and tucked in behind my winter coats was this orange print dress. i had to wear it. but as i mentioned before, it's like 62 degrees here. um freezing. so what's a girl gotta do? ha! easy! put something over it, tuck in some fabric and pop the collar (preferably not like eminem).

the best things in this world are free, especially if it's Chanel out of your mother's closet.

this week, i saw pumpkin spice latte on Starbucks' drinks menu. this week, my daily after dinner stroll turned into an after dinner run at 7:30PM when the sun decided it was time to say adios. this week, i suffered from "anti-fall-syndrome" where if it weren't for public indecency, i would have sported a bikini everywhere. i avoided jackets/blazers/pants/knits as if they were CALPIRG recruiters asking for donations. (#i swear i'm not a bad person) this week, was the first week of september and this is what i wore to welcome the new season.
